Sustainability

We love the great outdoors as much as you do.

In order to ensure we can collectively enjoy hitting the beautiful trails in the UK for generations to come, we want to do our best to run our business in a responsible and sustainable way.

Therefore, there are a few key areas we focus on:

  1. Supporting charities who want to protect and improve our beautiful environment and trails
  2. Working towards lowest impact packaging
  3. Supply and materials

1. Supporting charities

We donate at least 2% of our sales from our Stickers & Patches to The Ramblers and Rewilding Britain via WorkforGood.

These are two great organisations that help to preserve, improve and champion two areas we love:

The Ramblers: this organisation works to keep the countryside open to all and to fight for the things that matter most to walkers. Find out more about their mission here.

Rewilding Britain: this organisation aims to restore and improve the biodiversity within Britain, a cause we fully support. Find out more about their mission here.

You can find our WorkForGood profile here.

2. Low impact packaging

We pack our stickers & patches with minimal packaging. The packaging they do come with (an envelope and for patches a backing card) are made from fully recycled paper, with all packaging being fully recyclable itself.

Our poster packaging comes with zero plastic, thanks to a new innovation by our print supplier which has replaced the classic plastic tube cap with a robust and secure eco alternative made from paper and cardboard. This helps keep a secure fit for your posters, providing a high level of protection so your beautiful prints arrive in top condition.

3. Supply and materials

When sourcing our products, we've been mindful of the materials used in order to reduce the impact of our business.

Our posters are printed onto FSC-certified sustainably sourced paper/wood (so are our frames), and use water-based inks.

Our frames also use sustainably sourced wood. They include a perspex glaze to help protect your prints and ensure they will last for a long time to come. Even though this uses plastic, we weighed up the pros and cons of this decision carefully. Because perspex is lighter than the equivalent made from glass, it requires less energy to transport it to you, and because it isn't as brittle as glass, it is less likely to break whilst being shipped and therefore will avoid having to send multiple items (with multiple trips and therefore fuel).

Our patches are made from a fully recycled and non-toxic yarn, made from old plastic bottles (you'll hear the term post-consumer waste, which means it helps to reduce and repurpose that plastic that has already been created in the world such as plastic bottles).

Our stickers are made with vinyl to ensure they can stand up to the conditions you hardy walkers can throw at them! So whereas they are not plastic-free, these are so durable that they should last for 5+ years. What's more, we work with a small business based in Bristol (UK) to produce these, so minimal transport mileage is incurred.

As with all of our products, we are continually looking for more sustainable materials to use and more local suppliers in order to reduce our impact.
