Tell me more... 🥾

The Southern Uplands Way is Scotland’s first official coast-to-coast long-distance trail, a formidable 212-mile journey from Portpatrick on the Atlantic coast to Cockburnspath on the North Sea. This route is renowned for its remote and rugged character, cutting across the rolling hills, vast forests, and quiet moorlands of the Southern Uplands. Unlike the more crowded trails to the north, it offers a sense of profound solitude and "wild" hiking, passing through the historic Border country where the landscape is dotted with ancient hill forts and silent lochs.

A true highlight for many trekkers is the trail’s unique artistic element: the "Hoard," a series of hidden kists containing collectible brass coins along the way. From the granite heights of the Galloway Hills to the high summits of the Lowthers, the path challenges hikers with its significant elevation and unpredictable weather. This patch serves as a badge of honor for those who have navigated the "Great Across," celebrating a journey through the expansive, untamed heart of southern Scotland.

Crafted by passionate walkers for hikers who have built memories along the trail, this piece is a timeless tribute to the tales you earned.

This easy to apply iron-on patch is made from yarn made from old plastic water bottles, so is from 100% post-consumer waste. A sturdy patch that you can apply to your walking clothing, kit or onto blankets or material to display your achievements.

We have many more designs and products celebrating beautiful and epic trails, including National Trails and National Parks.
